The work would increase the overall capacity of the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium to 6,640 from about 3,700. Speaking after the meeting, chair of the planning committee, Sean Mooney, said football fans should be delighted by the announcement."It will be fantastic for the club and a great resource for the local sporting community, and I look forward to seeing the work commence on site."
