Following Saturday night's storms ravaged Denton and Collin counties (among other areas), we're tracking another possible wave of severe weather.
After a long track supercell Saturday night brought reports of tornadoes and damage across the region, more storms will enter North Texas early Sunday morning.-- across northern Denton, Collin and Hunt counties. We will know more about that storm in the days to come. This next round will be able to produce up to quarter-sized hail and 60 mph wind gusts. Some of these storms could make it as far north as the Metroplex.
If these storms make it to North Texas, they'll likely weaken and clear out by mid-morning. We are not expecting widespread severe weather with this next round. Did you see Sunday? Actual temperatures get close to the triple digits with heat index values easily over 100° for most. The good news? A front will come in late Sunday into Monday. It'll help knock temps down to the low 90s with slightly lower humidity. Rain and storm chances increase Monday night and as we head into June.
