The Great Briton said post-race: “I’m really happy to have run a British record. I was aiming for sub-7 today but it’s good and it’s good that I’m frustrated running so fast. It bodes really well and everything has been going really well in training so I can’t complain. “I really enjoy running here. We were working out yesterday that I haven’t run here since 2014 at the Birmingham Indoor, I’ve done Glasgow, I’ve run in Sheffield, but I just haven’t run in Birmingham so it’s really nice to be back. It looks beautiful and it makes me proud that we have got such an amazing warm crowd. I love running at home and I’ve got loads of friends in the audience, so it means a lot.
