A dispatcher tested positive for shabu during a random drug test conducted on Maundy Thursday by authorities on more than 100 Public Utility Vehicle drivers, conductors, and dispatchers in a public terminal here. | ManilaBulletin
Christian Fivaldo, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, said the surprise drug test was conducted by the PDEA, police, and representatives from the Land Transportation Office and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board as part of the government’s campaign to ensure the safety of commuters during the Holy Week.
“The random drug test in public terminals was undertaken to ensure that drivers and conductors of public utility vehicles are drug-free while transporting travelers during the Holy Week,” Frivaldo said. He said the dispatcher was turned over to the custody of barangay officials or proper disposition and drug rehabilitation.
The PDEA-12, LTO, and LTFRB also conducted a random drug test on some 100 PUV drivers, conductors, and dispatchers at the public terminal in Koronadal City, South Cotabato. The drug test yielded negative results.
