'Doctors assumed I’d abort my daughter who has Down's Syndrome and just try again for a normal one'
A MUM has revealed that doctors told her to ‘try again for a normal one’ after she discovered that her daughter would be born with Down's Syndrome.
But she and her husband Lucas never considered that as an option and are now proud parents to Lily, 10 as well as her younger brother Ollie, six. A second test revealed that their daughter would indeed be born with the condition and Emily and Lucas agreed that as long as the baby was healthy, which the test confirmed she was.
And while Emily says that her family and friends have been entirely supportive she has received some negative remarks.Emily McCain“I could tell some people felt sorry for me – against my will, I hasten to add!
