A doctor has shared his 'insider secrets' to beating the 8am GP phone rush while still having a good chance of getting an appointment with your doctor
It's always a hassle to wake up early only to find yourself stuck in a virtual line to speak with your doctor. Worse still, often you don't even get through before all the slots are taken, forcing you to try again another day. However, TikTok doctor Tim Mercer has now revealed some handy hints to boost your chances of getting through.
His first suggestion was to utilise e-consultations, hinting that earlier slots might be available which could lead to a face-to-face appointment later. Dr Mercer shared some practical advice for those struggling to book a GP appointment. The healthcare professional mentioned: "Many patients are now queuing up outside the surgery at eight o'clock in the morning to get an appointment, as I imagine they may have done 20 years ago. This seems to have a reasonably high rate of success."
