Rosario had signed a one-year, $1.5 million with the Rays in February and had been slashing .307/.331/.417 with two home runs in 76 games this season. In his first stint with the Dodgers, he hit .256/.301/.408 and played against mostly left-handed pitchers during a season in which Los Angeles was swept in the NLDS by the Diamondbacks.
Mookie Betts , Max Muncy , Miguel Rojas and Chris Taylor are all dealing with injuries. Even Edman is still in the process of recovering from a wrist surgery he had undergone last fall and will delay his Dodgers debut.
