It's believed the six-year-old spaniel was being walked by its owner when it was attacked by the unmuzzled dogs, who are believed to be XL Bullies, in Braemar Park at around 1.40pm on Monday, March 11.

A spokesperson for the force said: “An investigation is under way following a report of two dogs attacking another dog, a spaniel, in the Braemar Park area of Dunblane on Monday, 11 March, 2024. Stirling Council said the incident was reported to their team, adding: “We can confirm this incident was reported to our animal control team.

A ban on XL Bullies was introduced in Scotland on February 23. As of that date, anyone who owns one of the dogs must ensure they are on a lead and wearing a muzzle when in public.
