In a recent clip posted on the YouTube channel American Standard Dog Training, professional dog trainer Garret Wing outlined the top three canine breeds he would 'never personally own'. 1. Central Asian Shepherd - Known also as Alabai, these robust working dogs exhibit remarkable bravery and diligence in their traditional role as protectors of sheep and goat herds. Garret noted: 'Also known as the Alabai, the males can get over 170 plus pounds, and they are great livestock guardians.' He added a bit of personal insight, saying, 'Problem is, I don't have any livestock. Now, if you have livestock at home, then you might get this dog to help protect the flock.', reports the Express. 2. Bloodhound - Taking the second spot on Garret's list is the bloodhound, a sizable scent hound renowned for tracking deer, wild boar, and rabbits. This breed possesses an extraordinary aptitude for trailing human scents over significant distances and durations, making it invaluable to police forces. Garret highlighted that the breed's 'oily skin' is a concern as it can cause a strong odour. He explained: 'Now, the males can get up to 110 pounds, but it's not the size that concerns me. It's their oily skin.' He added, 'That oily skin makes them stink like no other dog. I don't care how many baths you give them; they just have a smell about them that's hard to get rid of.' 3.
