Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista answers questions from the media during the inauguration of new Philam QC Station of the EDSA Busway. The DOTr and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority led the inauguration ceremony on July 15, 2024.The Department of Transportation said Monday the EDSA Busway is undergoing a major transformation to prioritize both security and accessibility, especially for elderly passengers and persons with disabilities .
A total of 166 CCTV cameras intend to boost operational capability and monitor violators of busway regulations. “This is for the interest of our riders. This is so that we can attain the objectives of the DOTr. As for accessibility, that will answer it—it will be friendly to our seniors, PWDs,” Bautista said during the opening of the Philam station.
