The Mournemen host the Saffrons in the first Ulster SFC quarter-final of 2024 and the sides met in the League in February with Conor Laverty's men winning by nine points in Corrigan ParkThe first of four Ulster Senior Football Championship quarter-finals pits Down against Antrim in what will be the third meeting between the sides in 14 months.
The same is true for Antrim after they needed a round seven win over Wicklow to retain their Division Three status and Andy McEntee has endured rotten luck on the injury front throughout 2024. “We played Antrim in Newry last year and I think there was 11 changes from that team to the side that played in Corrigan Park,” said Donnelly.
“You want your strongest hand so you can ask different sort of questions from different areas,” said McEntee. “You wouldn’t say that about the game up in Corrigan. It was ugly enough at times, but some games take on their own meaning and everybody has plans until they get punched on the nose.”Cavan caused the first upset of this year’s Ulster Senior Football Championship with a stunning six-point win over Monaghan in Clones last Sunday.
