Colin Gradon was traced after police found his vehicle at the scene in Northumberland.
A drink-driver knocked out the electricity of nearby homes when he crashed into a pole and fled the scene.
The 67-year-old took a breath test and was found to have 58 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. He was later charged with driving with excess alcohol, and failing to report an accident, Chronicle Live reports.District Judge, Paul Currer, said: "You lost control, went to the near side and demolished a telegraph pole, cutting the electricity supply to nearby premises. It was taken clean out of the ground. You then left the scene and didn't report it.
