Victor Alfonso, 31, of Oakley, died at Sutter Delta Hospital after being rushed there in an ambulance following the the wreck, according to a statement from the City of Oakley.
Police said Contra Costa County Fire Protection crews came across the crash about 12:30 a.m. on southbound Bethel Island Road and East Cypress Road. According to police, Alfonso was speeding, lost control of the vehicle and went up on the raised center median.Police said they discovered evidence that Alfonso had been drinking.
