A car expert has shared a 'secret' compartment which can be found at the back of the glove box in most vehicles - and many people had no idea it was there
A car expert, known to her online followers as 'Driver Ms May', has revealed a 'secret' compartment in the glove box that many were unaware of. The motoring guru, who regularly shares lesser-known vehicle features with her online audience, recently highlighted how to remove a car's wing mirror glass and unlock a car when the fob battery is dead.
She then demonstrated a 'button' at the back, instructing viewers to "press" and "lift upwards", causing the glove box to drop down and revealing a cover to pry open. "The glove box will then fall down. Then we pry open this cover. Take out the air conditioner filter inside," she continued, removing a dust-laden filter. "Wow, no wonder the car is so smelly. Spend $5 , buy a new air conditioner filter and install it back. The method is very simple.
According to Car and Driver, the filter, known as the 'cabin air filter', is located behind the glove box in most cars. You can also look in your car's manual to find out more information about how to remove it.
