Some drivers are still well over the limit 😡

Police have asked drivers to share that the speed limit on a West Bridgford has changed after a number of motorists they stopped claimed they weren't aware of the change. The speed limit on Radcliffe Road changed from 40mph to 30mph in early 2022, but Nottinghamshire Police said it had received complaints of motorists speeding well over the limit.

Sergeant Sarah Merrall, of Nottinghamshire Police, said a number of motorists had said that they believed it was 40mph and were unaware of the speed limit change.As a part of a separate speeding and traffic operation, officers also took to Central Avenue, West Bridgford where they received reports that motorists repeatedly ignored traffic restrictions. A total of 12 vehicles were stopped and given advice about the restrictions, which include the road being prohibited to traffic between 7am-7pm.

“We regularly receive information from local residents about the wide range of issues that affect their lives and will always do our best to tackle the concerns that are most important to them. A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: “Operation Reacher have been tasked with addressing the issue of speeding on Radcliffe Road, West Bridgford following a change of speed limit from 40mph to 30mph.
