Drivers in Lancashire and Cumbria are being warned about roadworks in and around the region due to take place this week. Several of the busiest roads and motorways are set to see some disruption due to roadworks throughout this week. Amid the ongoing Easter holidays, motorists are being advised to plan their journey ahead of time and to adjust their routes accordingly.

Work started in January and will take around six months to complete. Work will be undertaken during the day, but occasionally the need to work overnight will take place and traffic management measures will be installed. It will take five weeks to complete the strengthening and resurfacing of the eastbound carriageway between Low Levens and Brettargh Holt roundabout. From Wednesday, February 21, the A590 eastbound, Levens Lane Interchange and Brettargh Holt Roundabout, has been closed overnight from 8pm to 6am.
M6 - River Dane between junctions 18 and 19 Built in 1962, the River Dane bridge is an 85-metre long structure carrying the M6 motorway over the River Dane between junctions 18 and 19 towards Holmes Chapel in Cheshire. Now, the piers supporting the bridge have weakened and essential repair works are needed.
