Work will start in early January in Thornhill
Scottish Water has announced plans for essential work on the water network in Thornhill early in the New Year as part of efforts to assess and plan for future investment needs.
The work will involve digging a small section of the road near Ardmair and the railway bridge and carrying out a detailed survey of the network. Work in Dumfriesshire will start on Monday, January 6, and is expected to last approximately two weeks. This section of road, to keep workers and the public safe, will be closed from 9am to 5pm each day while work is being carried out by Caledonia Water Alliance for Scottish Water. Any parts of the road being worked on will be securely fenced off and left safe.
The publicly-owned utility has advised that while the survey work is ongoing it may look at times as though there is limited activity at the site.Scottish Water, in advance, thanks residents and road users “for their patience and understanding during the period of essential work”.
