Aaron Donnelly, a rising star for Northern Ireland, returns to Dundee after a successful loan spell last season.

Rising Northern Ireland star Aaron Donnelly is heading back north after agreeing a three-and-a-half-year deal with Dundee . The Nottingham Forest defender was on loan with the Scottish Premiership side last season. He made 21 appearances for the Dee during the second half of the 2023/24 campaign. This term he has been on loan with English League Two side Colchester United, making 22 appearances.

Donnelly (21) says his return to Dundee was a 'no-brainer', and it's hoped he could get international clearance in time for tonight's massive showdown with Rangers at Dens Park. The Magherafelt man - who made his Northern Ireland debut in November last year when he came on as a substitute against Andorra - said: “I am absolutely delighted to be back at the club. As soon as I knew there was interest from the club it was a no-brainer to come back up here. My time here was excellent last season, really successful and I hope to pick up where I left off. “There was a real connection with the fans and the players last season and I’m looking to repay them for the great support and I can’t wait to get back out in front of them. “I am really looking forward to seeing the fans again at Dens Park on Thursday night and make sure to bring the noise.
