Department for Work and Pensions payments will commence on these exact dates paying direct to accounts of those eligible
More than eight million households will start to receive the next £300 cost of living payment in nine days - offering many of the poorest households vital help with bills. The money will go to those who are receiving benefits and is aimed at helping some of the neediest at this time of year.
The money is the second instalment of £900 being paid out in the 12 month period from the start of the financial year - the first was £301, and the last will be £299. Officials at the Department for Work and Pensions brought forward the date when next year’s £299 cost of living payment will be made.
The government has warned that it believes there are around 800,000 people not claiming Pensions Credit when they should. This is a ‘gateway benefit’ and opens up a lot of other central assistance and money.
