The DWP will be increasing rates of the Attendance Allowance benefit by 1.7 percent from April 7, 2025, and the boost could see some claimants receive an extra £52 a year
From April, millions of UK residents with certain health conditions could receive up to £5,740 annually from the Department for Work and Pensions . The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions has confirmed a 1.7 percent increase in Attendance Allowance, a benefit awarded by the DWP, in line with the previous September's inflation rate.
Currently, these rates are £72.65 for those needing frequent help or constant supervision during the day or night, and £108.55 for those requiring help or supervision throughout both day and night, or if a medical professional has indicated they're nearing the end of life. Liz Kendall, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, confirmed these rates will rise by 1.7 percent from April 7, 2025, providing claimants with an additional income boost.
To be eligible for Attendance Allowance, you must have reached State Pension age, have been in England, Scotland or Wales within the last two years, be habitually resident in the UK, Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands, and:
