The DWP has been sent out letters to people who could be entitled to claim back lost funds - here's how to check if you're one of the lucky ones
Recent data has revealed that over a thousand individuals could be eligible to claim lost funds from a Government 'goldmine'.
Vitally, it's the relatives of deceased parents or spouses who may be due payment from the Government's Department for Work and Pensions . This may be because their partner or relative received less than their entitled state pension while alive, with the unclaimed cash now available, as reported by the Financial Reporter
Another 131 letters also link to instances where a woman's lower pension wasn't rightfully boosted when her husband retired, while an additional 57 are connected to underpaid pensions for those aged 80 and above. "In thousands of cases, the person who was underpaid is sadly no longer with us, but their heirs should still benefit from any underpayment."
