The lawyer representing columnist E. Jean Carroll in her lawsuits against former President Donald Trump recently became involved in a different case featuring another Trump enemy, New York Attorney General Letitia James.Attorney Roberta Kaplan is representing the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in a lawsuit filed last week by the Trucking Association of New York over the MTA's congestion pricing framework in New York City. James is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit.
Her civil suit against Trump proved successful in February, when a judge barred him from operating any business in New York for three years and fined him $355 million plus interest.Trump has accused James of having a political vendetta against him and is appealing the decision. He posted a $175 million bond in April, blocking the attorney general from seizing his assets to satisfy the fine while he appeals.
