The Eagles signed another offensive lineman MOndy, adding a veteran who was taken a few spots ahead of a former Eagles draft selection and a current member of the team.
The team signed former Cincinnati Bengals and Houston Texans guard Max Scharping on Monday. Scharping was selected by the Texans in the second round of the 2019 draft, two picks before the Eagles selected. Scharping has started in 33 of the 79 games he has appeared in during his career, with the last start coming in a 2021 Week 15 game as a member of the Texans against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Last season, Scharping only appeared in the regular-season finale against the Cleveland Browns and did not allow a sack in the five pass-blocking opportunities he played. Throughout his career, he has primarily played on the right side of the offensive line. According to, Scharping played 661 of his 746 snaps at right guard in 2021 and 219 of his 308 snaps at the position in 2022.
