The 50-year-old, who normally plays for the Glasgow Skye Association Pipe Band, says the band were treated like heroes at the German folk festival as they played tunes and enjoyed the 'fantastic' atmosphere over the weekend.
An East Kilbride man has joined the piping 'mile-high club' after wowing passengers with a performance at 30,000 feet.
Alisdair, who had been playing the pipes for over 40 years, spoke to Glasgow Live about the trip, he said: "I've been involved in pipe bands for most of my life. I was invited on the trip by the Williamwood Pipe Band as a guest player. Muhldorf, which is the second biggest folk festival in Germany and second only to Octoberfest in Munich, sees Germans gather in their thousands to enjoy traditional music, food and dress.
"I decided to give it a few tunes for them at the gate. A guy came over and stood beside me and I thought he was security. In a video taken of the moment, Alisdair can be seen standing at the front of the plane belting out Flower of Scotland and Scotland the Brave to the delighted crowd.
