Rocky is currently in the very difficult position of owing a lot of money while having a completely empty bank account, and his way of dealing with that is far from ideal.
When his bets prove successful, Rocky continues to gamble, much to the concern of friend Harvey Monroe who urges him to be careful. Rocky promises that he won’t return to the bookies, though Harvey isn’t sure he believes him. Harvey isn’t happy with Rocky’s gambling And he’s right to be suspicious when Rocky is later approached by boxing promotor Dorian, who encourages him to place a large bet on the Pie, Pint and Punch Up night promising a huge pay out.
