EXCLUSIVE: The chief executive at City of Edinburgh Council sent a message to all staff after allegations were made against the local authority's political leader.

A top boss at City of Edinburgh Council has urged staff to "speak up when they feel something isn't right" after a senior Labour councillor was accused of bombarding refugees with sex texts.

The allegations have left employees at the council stunned - prompting chief executive Paul Lawrence to send a message to all staff this morning. "Further, it's extremely important that everyone feels able to speak up when they feel something isn't right. If you witness, experience or have concerns about unacceptable behaviour, you should speak to your line manager, or another line manager you feel safe confiding in."

Most of them were unanswered by the refugee. Day also contacted them on a dating app where the messages were more sexually explicit. “He found and subscribed to me on social media and started liking my stories intensively, sending kissing emojis, especially when I posted gym and pool photos.
