Some postcodes have suffered outages in the city and led to various venues having to stop their shows.
There were reports of multiple shows being stopped or disrupted in the Old Town with much of Newington also affected shortly after 5pm this evening, Friday, August 2, reports Edinburgh Live.
Organisers posted on X: "There's a power outage in some city centre postcodes at the moment, which may be affecting some #edfringe venues - if you're an affected venue and you see this, add a reply so we can let people know!"Someone else added: "Many shows have had to stop due to the power outages. One user on X said: "A power cut at the Edinburgh Fringe. All shows stopped near Pleasance Dome. Mad. Hope all performances and audiences can get back on asap.
The Summerhall venue seemed to take advantage of the situation and let festival-goers know that its shows were unaffected in a light-hearted post Bosses wrote on X: "Hello Edinburgh! We have power, we have shows, we have a beer garden and a pub! Come on down to Summerhall for the evening!"
