Elle Fanning is photographed at the premiere of “A Complete Unknown” with her hair in 1960s-style pigtails.
If you had asked me what I thought of pigtails as a formal updo before seeing Elle Fanning at the premiere of A Complete Unknown on 10th December, I would have been one hundred percent against the idea. After seeing Elle Fanning at the premiere of the new Bob Dylan biopic, however, it’s another story. To go with her white Gucci slip dress , Fanning wore her hair in a voluminous pigtail style that looks time-warped right from the 1960s.
Elle’s side-swept bangs frame her face, while a teased portion at the top, secured with a crystal-embellished bow barrette to match the dress, gives the whole look a lift. The ponytails themselves were also bedazzled with matching crystal-beaded hair-ties. The style is reminiscent of ’60s-style icons like Brigitte Bardot or Audrey Hepburn, who wore a similar style of pigtails in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
