Elysium nightclub in Liverpool city centre has remained closed since a fire broke out in September 2024. The three-story building, located on Eberle Street, suffered damage to its roof space. Fire crews battled the blaze for several hours, closing roads and disrupting traffic in the area. The venue, which opened in 2023, aimed to continue the legacy of the former Garlands nightclub, but has been silent on social media since summer 2024.

A city centre venue remains shut months after a blaze broke out inside. Elysium nightclub, located on Eberle Street in the former Garlands venue, was gripped by a blaze on Friday, September 13 last year. At the time, six fire engines surrounded the building as crews could be seen using the entrance to Elysium in the city's Pride Quarter in order to fight the fire. Merseyside Fire and Rescue were on scene at 3.36pm with an aerial appliance also in attendance.

The company hasn’t posted to any of its social media accounts since summer, months before the fire took place. When Elysium initially opened in 2023, it promised to stay true to the ethos of Garlands, “ a nightclub before its time ”. Clubbers were entertained with live music and “a line-up of some of the hottest house DJs in the area'. With a capacity of 1,200 the versatile space wanted to pitch itself as a private event space for city centre celebrations.
