Embarrassment stopped Daniel Farke from bombing two or three players out of his ailing Leeds United side at half-time in Southampton. The Saints had run the Whites ragged and led 3-0 at the break in Hampshire, but the manager felt it would have been wrong to pick out individuals for the underside of a bus by hooking them at the break.
“I got the feeling I didn’t have to do a bit more with the attitude or with the mentality [of the players],” he said. “It was more like I want to give the players a chance to show a reaction because if you go back into the dressing room at half-time, you are 3-0 down, it's always difficult. “I didn't want to show there is, with two or three substitutions, these two or three players were crucial for being back that much. I didn't want to embarrass them.
