Sefton Council are expected to approve the recovery fund at their next cabinet meeting on Thursday
A new emergency recovery fund is expected to be announced by Sefton Council which will offer support to those impacted by the horrific mass stabbing on July 29 and the riots which followed. The fund will cover a range of needs including psychological support, repairs to property and also any losses incurred by local businesses. Sefton Council reconvenes after their summer break on Thursday, September 5 and will hold a full cabinet meeting to set out the agenda for the rest of 2024 and beyond.
As part of this ongoing support work, the local authority plans to launch a Southport Business Recovery Fund to support firms which have suffered since the tragic events at The Hart Space in Southport. Targeted financial assistance will be offered to all affected businesses and organisations located in the Hart Street and St Lukes Road areas of Southport with longer term economic solutions also to be assessed.
