The proceedings officially kick off with a state procession from Buckingham Place, which will see King Charles and Queen Camilla travel to the abbey, a stunning horse drawn carriage that was only recently brought into service in 2014. The clear nod towards all things new while honouring the historic legacy of the ceremony, perfectly epitomises Charles’ own attitude towards the monarchy, as in recent months he has pledged to streamline and modernise the way the royal family are perceived.
Following the procession, which covers a short route of just 1.3miles, the two hour service will commence promptly at 11am - with the key moment in which the King is crowned, due to take place at midday.Emma Thompson led the celebrity arrivals at King Charles' Coronation. The actress, 64, smiled as she arrived in London on Saturday wearing a vibrant pink floral coat.
