Matthew Wolfenden emotionally announced he will be exiting Emmerdale this week
The soap star has played David Metcalfe in the fictional Yorkshire village since he first joined the show in 2006. The actor was in tears on This Morning this week as he announced his memorable stint as David would soon be coming to an end.
The soap stars focused on raising Buster - and rekindled their romance two years later. They have since added two more children, Bowie and Ace, to their family - and Charley and Matthew eventually tied the knot in a secret ceremony back in 2018. He landed on his head and fractured two vertebrae–this destroyed his chances of being an athlete. He focused his efforts on becoming an actor but told the Loose Women how his mental health suffered when he later required a big operation after the injury.
