Samson Dingle has left the village to serve time in prison but it appears the pressure of his abrupt exit is coming between his two parents as they struggle with his absence.
Emmerdale has teased trouble for Sam Dingle and his wife Lydia following Samson's exit. Last week, Samson Dingle was sentenced to four years in prison after he lied about being stabbed by Matty Barton at The Hide.
Eventually, Lydia persuaded her stepson Samson to tell the truth to the police, and he knew he’d face a prison sentence for what he’d done. In a bid to toughen the teenager up, Cain Dingle gave him some fighting lessons but Samson used his new skills to beat up bully Josh. In a conversation with Lydia, Sam explained how he's constantly thinking about Samson and what may be happening to him. Lydia tried to encourage Sam to talk about his anguish and explained she felt the same.Lydia hit back: "You mean because I’m not his real mum", before getting up and walking out of the café.
