The wind farm could generate enough electricity to power 100,000 homes
What may become ‘England’s largest onshore wind farm’ could soon be built on the edge of Greater Manchester.
Cubico Sustainable Investments, who are behind the project, believes it could be operational before 2030 and could generate an estimated £200 million of investment and hundreds of skilled green jobs.Subject to planning permission, Scout Moor II could generate enough clean electricity to power over 100,000 homes and meet around 10 per cent of Greater Manchester’s domestic energy needs.
“We’re encouraged by the Government’s vision to accelerate the build out of renewable energy infrastructure across the country, and we are committed to delivering projects that decarbonise our power system, enhance energy security, and benefit local communities.”
