Eva Tucker suffered over 100 seizures whilst on holiday with her family in Spain
Eva Tucker had been playing happily on the beach with her family when her mum realised her daughter was having a seizure. Her teeth were grinding and suddenly, her head became stiff.
Since then, her father, Mark Tucker, who lives in Bolton, says his daughter's condition has resulted in her ending up in intensive care three times - with the most recent seizure leaving her stuck in hospital for months. "Her mum was feeding her in her high chair and suddenly it just started. Then she was getting them every six weeks or so. She'd often get ear infections, and then the seizures would follow.
Eva had been on holiday with her mum, who is separated from Mark, along with their eldest daughter when the latest terrifying bout of seizures happened. "She is now on four different medications a day to make sure she doesn't have any seizures. We don't know the exact trigger is but, the big thing is, if she gets a spike in temperature, which means she needs to be watched all the time.
Last weekend, he completed an Ultra Marathon around Lake Windemere in the Lake District to raise money for Young Epilepsy. A JustGiving page has also received over £6,000 in donations.
