In the 12 years since she wrapped up her eight-season run as the outrageously funny Gabrielle Solis on the soapy ABC drama Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria has only acted sporadically. During that time, she has starred as a Latino soap star who can’t speak Spanish and the mother of Dora the Explorer , guest-starred on hit series , and even played heightened versions of herself .
