For me, that is either Garner at right wing to offer protection to the positivity of Patterson. Or Garner at right-back to protect the positivity of Jack Harrison. Harrison is a proven top flight goal threat and I want to make sure Everton have a chance of causing West Ham problems.
Hopefully Young and Harrison will both learn from the experience but with the former now ineligible to face David Moyes’ side, I’d make the most straightforward switch that keeps everyone in their most natural position and that’s simply replacing him with fellow right-back Nathan Patterson, unless of course Seamus Coleman who was pictured on the ball with team-mates in a Goodison Park training session on Wednesday is actually deemed fit enough to return.
However, the Everton boss should only make the one enforced tweak he has no option but to do. There is simply no need to shake things up.
