Sean Dyche will not be kept on as Everton manager by The Friedkin Group as players and fans don’t like his style of play, according to Jay Bothroyd.
“It’s been difficult for Sean Dyche because everyone says he’s a long-ball merchant, and when you get labelled as that how many teams really want that, especially if you’re down the bottom of the league all the time. A lot of the Everton fans don’t want to see that.“Yes they’ve got some good players but they don’t have enough to say they’re an above-mid-table side. But now they’ve got the financial backing I just can’t see Dyche is gonna be there beyond this year.
“Dyche has to stay up and I think Everton will stay up, purely for the fact they’ve got a good defensive record, but in the long run for him to keep his job that’s a different question. Beyond that though the Friedkin Group are going to have big ambitions for the club to move back up the table to where they once where.
