Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has revealed John Textor does not have an exclusive agreement with the club over a potential takeover., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted the lack of exclusivity will be due to his involvement at Crystal Palace and a subsequent reluctance to give the US investor full access to the Toffees’ books.

It’s then difficult to give him full access to the books at Everton, and access to all the player wages.”
