Scotland is enjoying the warmest temperatures in all of the UK
Scots have been basking in scorching weather this week as today saw the west of Scotland boast the highest temperature in the whole of the UK.
However, the slight dip in temperatures won't last long as it's set to reach 20C in the west once again this weekend in another warm spell that continues into next week. Again, the west of Scotland will see the highest temperatures, whereas figures are peaking at 13C further north and 11C in the east. This is because of an area of high pressure feeding clouds into the east of the country, cooling things down whilst the west remains warm.
A longer-range forecast by the Met Office from June 3 to 12 reads: "Settled conditions are likely to dominate throughout this period with plenty of dry and bright weather across the country, the best of the sunny spells expected across the west.
