However, London-based pharmacist Abbas Kanani said this can be the first sign of mpox clade 1b, which experts have called 'the most dangerous one so far'.Swollen glands in the neck, groin and armpits, are triggered by the virus due to their role in fighting off infections. Mpox causes characteristic lumpy lesions, as well as a fever, aches and pains and fatigue. However, in a small number of cases, it can enter the blood and lungs, as well as other parts of the body, when it becomes life-threateningThis takes the total number of confirmed cases in Britain now to five. The unidentified patient, from Leeds, had no links to the previous four cases.
Superintendent pharmacist at Chemist Click, Abbas Kanani explained other common initial symptoms of the infection include high temperature, muscle aches and joint pain. It can spread to other parts of the body including the mouth and the genitals and anus, in some cases causing anal bleeding and pain.
