One bazaar in Fairbanks showcases talented young entrepreneurs.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - For many kids, picking up a craft or hobby is the perfect way to exercise their imaginations. Some kids take their crafts further by making a business out if it. At the Crafty Kids Market at the Roaming Root Cellar , young entrepreneurs aged 15 and under have the opportunity to vend their merchandise.“It’s made with 550 paracord,” explained craftsman Caleb, holding up a woven bracelet. “That means it can hold 550 pounds of weight before it snaps.
Further down the row, more tables boasted homemade slime, baked goods, blooming peonies, macrame and even driftwood designs. “I started doing like two years ago,” Penelope explained. “This is all beach wood from Homer, I’ll gather it over the years, and this is macrame cord. I’ll do different colors.”
