Glasgow family devastated and facing £10k vet bill after dog 'mauled' outside home
A fundraiser has been launched to help cover the cost of trying to keep a much-loved dog alive after it was allegedly mauled outside its home.
Owner Sharon Mcginley told Glasgow Live: "The vets were able to keep her stable for a couple of hours and then we went to the vet hospital. They gave her lots of fluids and steroids but they couldn't do anything that day because of what she'd been through. "Star was initially my gran's dog. We also said she was like a pensioner dog because she just loved the slow life - her and my gran were inseparable. My gran passed away just before Christmas and since then, she's been all my Granda has had.
As part of the treatment, Star was given a blood and plasma transfusion and was put on dozens of medications while her family waited desperately for news on her recovery.
