Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has motioned to dismiss the appeals petition seeking to remove her office from former President Donald Trump's election subversion case.In a court filing to the Georgia Court of Appeals, Willis' office said that Trump's appeal lacked 'sufficient evidence' to overturn a lower court's ruling that allowed Willis to remain on the case.
'As both this Court and the Supreme Court have repeatedly held, Georgia appellate courts will not disturb a trial court's factual findings on disputed issues outside of certain, very rare, circumstances,' Willis' office wrote to the state Court of Appeals.Prosecutors added later in their filing that 'with such due deference afforded to the trial court's factual findings, there exists no basis for reversal of the order at issue.
