Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson, and Fabinho aren't enjoying the smoothest of times in Saudi Arabia after leaving Liverpool in the summer
Liverpool’s three former players who traded Anfield for lucrative moves to Saudi Arabia in the summer are now perhaps finding that out the hard way.
But four months on from such transfers, it has been far from plain sailing for Firmino, Henderson, and Fabinho since moving to pastures new. The latter, who are currently sixth, sacked manager Nuno Espirito Santo on Tuesday after a five-game winless run in the Saudi Pro League. The Portuguese had played a big role in Fabinho joining Al-Ittihad, with the former Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur boss being the man who first brought the Brazilian to Europe when signing him for Rio Ave in 2012.
Also knocked out of the King’s Cup, their campaign is not going to plan. And having seen former team-mate Robbie Fowler brutally sacked by Saudi Arabian second division side Al Qadsiah last month despite an unbeaten start to the season, you wonder how long Gerrard’s position will remain safe.
