Joe Rodon made his first Leeds United start on Friday as the Whites drew 1-1 with West Brom
Daniel Farke couldn’t be happier with how Joe Rodon has settled into Leeds United life, but he insists the best is yet to come from the defender. After stepping off the bench for the Whites last weekend in the defeat to Birmingham City, Rodon was thrown into the starting line-up to make his full debut against West Bromwich Albion at Elland Road.
The Wales international, who spent last season on loan at Rennes, was cool and composed on the ball, taking possession on and striding out with confidence on one or two occasions, too. Farke admits he had no worries about throwing the 25-year-old into the fire on Friday night and his selection was justified. But, Rodon has plenty of room to improve, the German insists and he’ll be working closely with him over the coming weeks.
“We got the feeling he was prepared and we don’t have to speak about his quality, he knows this league inside out, he was rock solid when he played in this league and that was the reason Tottenham spent so much money on him. He has unbelievable pace and it is good when we have to defend that high in the field, it helps.
