Few details on the crash were available immediately, but authorities confirmed that a driver died in the wreck and another person was hospitalized. It was unknown how critical that person was injured. The crash happened around 1 a.m. on Ygnacio Valley Road between Civic Center and Broadway, according to authorities. Ygnacio Valley Road allowed commuters to go from central Contra Costa County to eastern Contra Costa County.
