The plans are recommended for approval
Residents fear plans to build 170 new homes in Leeds will make their neighbourhood "'unrecognisable and poorer".
A planning report revealed that Leeds Civic Trust was among eight objectors to the project. Among the objections, one letter stated: "The building height would be out of character and would set a precedent for others. Another huge building will lead the way to more huge buildings until the area is unrecognisable and poorer for it."The developers, Bankfoot APAM and NPV Leeds, say nine properties at a discounted rent could be provided, which is fewer than required under planning rules.
The granting of planning permission is contingent on additional financial contributions towards parking spaces, public transport, and local pedestrian and cycle routes.
