More than 50 objections were received to the mast when plans were submitted

Plans for a mast on a grass verge on the corner of Okell Drive in Halewood were submitted to Knowsley Council earlier this year. The proposal attracted dozens of objections from local residents angry with the plans.

One objector stated the mast would “tower” above people’s homes, while another described it as “unsightly and overbearing” and one person claimed the structure would “obscure the view” from their windows. Planning officers stated there was little concern around the mast being hit by cars due to a railing in front of the site from one direction while from the another vehicles “would have to mount the kerb and cross the grass verge” to hit it.
